Five Years On

I haven't been on here for a couple of years. The time has gone so quickly - it's a lot easier being without you now but you are still in my thoughts every single day. One of my friend's is going through a tough time just now. Her mum has the same illness as you had and I really feel for her - I know just how hard it is and is going to be, for all her family. It kind of brought it all back and I have been getting a bit tearful again as the memories of those visits to the hospital come flooding back. Life just isn't fair sometimes - Well lots of things have changed. Jamie is now in New Zealand with his girlfriend. He has a job as a head chef and his girlfriend as a waitress, with a property thrown in. They seem to be really loving the life over there - I wish you were here and we could have made the visit to them - I guess you already have travelled to see them now though :-) They have adopted a dog that was due to be shot by the farmer (she was a working dog). Craig is newly single and back from his travels in Oz, Thailand and Cambodia. He had a great time over there and it has broadened his horizons. He's hoping to go back over but he's finding it nearly impossible to save now that he's single and out all weekend! My mum is fine and we are all going out soon to celebrate her 75th birthday. You would have made a big fuss of her. I have a new job! I got it just under 2 years ago - right after the last journal entry when I asked if you could help me get another job! You did! Thank you :-) I'm really enjoying it and the group of people there are really nice. Kimber is still in touch with me and the boys. Maybe some day she can get over here for a visit - we can have a good blether about you, laugh and shed a few tears. That would be nice Well Al, I'm going to watch the football on the tv shortly. It's Sunday and I'm having a lazy day in front of the tv. For May, the weather is atrocious! What would you say - Scottish weather (but with a few expletives added! ). Speak soon - love you always - that's a given xx
